Welcome! This year marks the West Hartford Youth Baseball League's 24th Annual Ken Hungerford Invitational Tournament.
Here is a quick summary of the tournament:
Tournament games are held at Wolcott Park and Beachland Park in West Hartford. Wolcott Park is a lighted field with an excellent atmosphere for spectators as the field sits in a bowl-like stadium where fans view from above on the hill. There is easy access to both fields from I-84 with shopping and dining nearby. Wolcott Park also offers a concession stand with drinks, snacks, and grilled items.
Tournament games have been highly competitive in the past with AAU, Cal Ripken, and Little League teams participating.
All games are played on a 50/70-foot diamond.
All playoff games are umpired by certified Super East Baseball Umpires.
The tournament will include 4 round robin style games and a single-elimination playoff bracket. All 8 teams make the playoffs.
The tournament will run from Saturday, July 21st through Sunday, July 29th. We will do the best that we can to accommodate schedules for those teams still competing in district play and/or other tournaments.
There will be a skills competition held on Sunday, July 22nd.
All Cal Ripken 50/70 rules will apply in the tournament. Full rules will be provided upon receipt of the roster form and deposit.
Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
Trophies awarded for 1st and 2nd place finishers.
To register for the tournament, contact Kyle Jeter (information below). He will send you a roster form to fill out, and that form is due along with a $100 deposit by Sunday, July 1st. Once we receive these two items, we will follow up with further information. The remaining $600 is due by Sunday, July 15th.
Thank you for your attention, and we hope you will become part of a great experience by joining our tournament this year!
